How Our Program Works

Step 1: (free consultation)
Reed Consulting offers a free telephone one-time consultation to assess each client's financial circumstance and to determine whether you are a candidate for one of our programs. You may also complete the free online application for an evaluation.

Step 2: (start working for client)
Once a client has been accepted into one of our programs, work on their case starts. If aggressive collection efforts are occurring, we will contact creditors requesting they cease all communications with you and direct them to communicate with our trained professional staff.

Step 3: (capture conversations)
A conversation record will be created for all calls with creditors. This record will help us track any collection law violations and is useful in our debt management process.

Step 4: (payment process)
If client is in our debt consolidation program, each month the client makes one monthly payment to Reed Consulting, and then Reed Consulting makes the monthly payment to the client's creditors.

However, in order to meet the terms of a debt settlement agreement, each month the client must make payments directly to the creditor as agreed.

Step 5: (client information/authorization)
Each debt consolidation client provides Reed Consulting a variety of information (e.g., income, creditor, and asset) about his/her financial situation. Once this information is received, our experienced staff will begin the client financial situation assessment, and then negotiate with creditors to achieve the best possible consolidation deal for our client.

Each debt settlement client will be provided a debt template to fill out and send to our office once they are prepared to begin settling the contracted debts. This template tells us which contracted account you would like us to pursue, the amount of settlement authorized and the date the funds will be available for disbursement to the creditor. Once this information is received, our experienced staff will begin negotiating with the creditors to achieve the best settlements possible for our client.

Step 6: (payment to creditors)
For debt consolidation clients, one monthly payment is made to Reed Consulting. Then on the client's behalf per an agreed upon schedule, Reed Consulting makes individual monthly payments to creditors.

If the client approves a settlement offer by the creditor, funds must be timely disbursed by the client directly to the creditor. This process will be repeated until all contracted accounts are settled.

Step 7: (client inquiries)
We are fully aware that our clients from time-to-time may have questions about our process. Therefore, we have staff available during regular business hours to answer client questions and to keep our clients up to date on their case progress.
